vs.
The Giants are away again this weekend in the playoffs to take on the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys have beaten the Giants twice already this season, however, things are different this time around. The Giants are playing with great passion and are a team that looks determined to pull off a big upset this weekend. The Cowboys are struggling a little bit and things seem to be looking downward for them this week. The Cowboys are looking as though they won't even have their biggest weapon in Terrell Owens on the field this weekend. He was hurt only 3 weeks ago and this is a 5-8 week injury. Even if he does play, he won't the normal T.O. that has had a very good season for the "Boys".
The Giants are firing on all cylinders now, and it looks like the loss of Jeremy Shockey was actually a good thing for them. Now that Shockey is out of the lineup for the Giants...Manning isn't relying so much on having him their as a check down. He is actually looking at the receivers and watching them finish their routes and he is playing like a real QB now. We'll see what happens in this game, but I like his chances to continue performing well and now that he has his first playoff win he can focus more on the team and it's goals rather than getting that proverbial monkey off of his back. The Giants also have something they never had when they faced the Cowboys earlier in the season...RB Bradshaw has really been playing great for the Giants, and combine him with an incredible Brandon Jacobs, this running game is hitting its stride at the right time. This game is a very different match up between these two teams than any of their previous 2 games this year.
Overall, without T.O. this is a different team. And actually, even if T.O. did play and was 100% I would still take this bet. The Giants are playing better than they have all year, and the beating a team 3 times in one season is very very difficult to do. In fact, the Dallas Cowboys have NEVER, in the history of the Cowboys, beaten any 1 single team three times in one season. And really, I'm not even saying they won't win this game. Because honestly, the Giants are good right now, however, the Cowboys still have just as much if not way more talent. There are just certain things working against them here in this game. The Cowboys will be given a true run for their money, and this game will be won by the team that holds the ball last in my opinion. I expect Eli Manning to work a lot off of the play action pass and use that talented running game and the explosion of Bradshaw and Jacobs to help him be more efficient. The Cowboys will probably end up winning this game, but it certainly won't be by more than 7.5 points. Take the Giants at 7.5 here.
