Very interesting game in the uefa cup and one thats sure to be keenly contested. Its possibly the tie of the roung.

Ajax have made a poor start to the dutch league and we seen a quite dreadful performance at Hereenveen when they lost 5 goals. They did manage to get back to winning ways last week with a 1-0 win over Gronigan but again they were far from their best. Theres only 6 games gone so far in Holland but 9th in the table is not good enough and the coach is under pressure.

Once again Villa have made a nice start to the season and sit 6th with 4 wins already. Oneill is a fine manager who seems to have the knack of getting the very best out of his side and making players want to really fight for him.

It was a disappointing performance at home to Pompey at the weekend though as they only got a 0-0 and were a little lucky to get that.

Im not going with form here. I think Ajax are a super bet. Yes they are a shambles at the back but we know how the dutch sides are taught to play and how often they go abroad and play keep ball. If we look at villas 2 home eufa games against poor opposition they have been dire in both games. I think this is because its very difficult to build a side to play in europe and british football, unless ofcourse you can fill it with world class players like man utd or chelsea.

I can see villa having a very tough time tonight and with those wide open spaces at villa park and a perfect playing surface Ajax enjoying a rest from their domestic league. The dutch still have some class, Huntelaar is one of the top strikers in europe , Swarez, Gabri. These are top class footballers who will give villa plenty to think about.
