Fiorentina +0.5
The Italians head to Germany in confident mood after making it 3 wins in a row with the win over Reginna(3-0) last weekend. Possiby more importantly the Viola are defending superbly at the moment and have not lost a goal in any of they 3 matches. I believe they have one of the top goalkeepers in Italy, Sebastien Frey.
They are also unbeaten in europe so far with 2 draws in the groups and the 2-0 agg win over Slavia Prague in qualifying. Yes they disappointed slightly against Steaua (0-0) but they were excellent in Lyon and really should have won that game. 2-0 up with 20 mins left Lyon scored a controversial goal to get back in it when Zauri was down hurt, Benzema was then onside with a defender down injured and he passed for Piquionne to score. 3 mins from time Lyon grabbed the draw.
Last season they deserved to go to the eufa cup final but were beaten by Rangers who really made no effort to score in either semi final and played for pens.
Klinsman is under a lot of pressure at the moment and Bayern are not at their best. Yes there is only 8 games gone and its early days but looking at the Bundesliga table its very odd to see Munich in 11th place with only 3 wins. They got a very important win at Karlsruhe at the weekend but again, they didnt play well and a late Klose strike gave them the 3 points.
Werder smashed 5 past them, Hannover beat them and little Bochum scored 3 goals in Munich in a 3-3 draw. The mighty Bayern are going through a very sticky patch.
This group looks like the tightest of them all, so i see good value on any side not to lose. Prandelli is a very experienced coach whos shown his worth in europe and i believe he can win the tactical battle with Klinsmann. They are a solid side who give little away and that is obviously vital in big european games and when going to places like Munich. I liked how well they kept the ball in France and frustrated the home support, hopefully they can again. The Viola also have Gilardino who is strong in the air, hes on great form at the moment and Bayern have been losing quite a few soft goals recently at cross balls/set plays.
I expect Fiorentina to take at least a point.
