Clermont -11.5
Obviously 11 points seems very high for a match against possibly, one of the strongest english sides in the comp. However im not that impressed by Sales start to the season despite them picking up a few wins. They dont score many trys, if any, and to be honest they have not really tried to entertain despite having a very strong back line. The performance last week at London Irish was pathetic and for the 1st time this season we seen some big gaps in the defensive line.
They will face a side who are one of the best in europe at putting points on the board. Last season Clermont should really have made it through the groups with some super performances at home but for some bizarre reason played a second string side in a couple of away games. There was no doubting that their 1st team was up there with Munster, i say theres every chance the French would have beaten them but a lack of respect for the tournement cost them in the end.
I love the atmosphere at this ground. The fans are right on top of the action and when their heroes get in front they encourage them to keep going and really punish the opponents. Clermont have 2 massive wingers who not only have the pace but great balance and movement, which can make them almost impossible to stop when the get on a roll. Theres been a lot of talk about fly halfs Brock James form, or lack of it, but he is a class act who should shine against a Sale side who are devoid of ideas.
Clermont -11.5 to beat Sale with boyles at 1.91
