St Helens vs. Leeds

Saints have been on quite fantastic form and have not lost a match for about 5 months. That is some going when you consider how physically demanding super league is and how hgh the level of competition has been this season.

They booked their place by beating Leeds a couple of weeks back and really 38-10 does not tell you how far ahead Saints were.

Leeds hit back though with the win over Wigan. It may not have been the greateat display of attacking rugby by the Rhinos but they defended superbly and this is the part of their game which has always been in question. If they can repeat that performance then who knows maybe they can win this. They won when the sides met in last years final so they know its possible.

Grand Finals are usually very, very tight matches and i dont see this being any different. Thats why il take Leeds with a very tasty start. Its sure to be some battle in the forward line and Peacock will have to be on top form. The weather forecast is for some rain during the day, this will suit Leeds who play their best rugby on a wet pitch. Its odd i know but its true, Leeds best performances have been when the pitch is soft as its more difficult to stop their backs and defenders often slip trying to tackle the likes of Burrow.

There is one area where Saints are slightly weak, the right side of defence where Gardner will line up. Leeds best attacks do come on their left where Burrow and Senior will line up. If they can get enough ball in the danger zone then im sure they can score points.

Possibly it wont be enough to win but i expect the match to be close.
