Shakhtar vs. Barca

Barca got back to their very best with that amazing 6-1 win at Gijon a couple of weeks back. All their top players were on form and some of the goals were fantasic. What pleased me most though was the one they gave away. One simple pass through the middle and a free shot at goal for Gijon. I love seeing the big sides losing soft goals because if you have Messi, Etoo and Inesta at the other end, at top form, you can be almost sure of an over 2,5 goals bet coming up.

All 6 goals were excellent and they managed another 3 v Betis. Again though 2 were gifted by that Barca backline and Betis are hardly known for being a top scoring side.

Espanyol were beaten 2-1 at the weekend, 2 late Barca goals. But we dont read too much into that, it was a derby game with some crowd problems, and even so we still seen the 3 goals.

Shakhtar are a good side for overs, in the Cl anyway. I must admit to seeing little of them in their domestic league but in recent years they have been a great side to watch in europes top competition. They play will plenty of skill, loads of speed , good movement, and best of all 2 full backs who basically become wide men when they have the ball.But despite some super football in the Cl they have still failed to make it through to the last 16. why ? cos those centre backs dont enjoy pace and are not used to playing against the same level of striker as the CL brings.

Only 1 win in 9 for Donetsk so far in their league. They will score, im sure but i have a feeling it could be a 3-1 or 4-1 for Messi and co.
