Celtic vs. Aberdeen

Celtic are playing some super football at the moment and can join Rangers at the top of the spl with a win over a out of sorts Aberdeen.

In the last couple of weeks we have seen them hammer both Motherwell and Kilmarnock and anyone who follows the spl will tell you away games against these 2 sides are usually very tough.

They swept Motherwell aside in the 1st half and were 4-0 ahead at the break, Killie were totally outplayed for the entire 90 mins, it ended 3-1 but it could have been so many more.

Maloney is a great signing from Villa but the man of the moment is Samaras, he is running riot in the spl and looks fantastic value at around 2m quid from Man City. Spl defenders are finding his pace, strength and skill tough to stop and theres already talk about him being player of the year... in Sept.

Celtic have so many goals in their side and also in reserve They got 4 midweek against Livi in the league cup and McGeady was back on form, he will probably be on the bench again though on Saturday but hopefully we will see his skills later when the Dons tire.

Aberdeen are possibly the side on the poorest form in the spl, over the last few weeks anyway. Beaten by little Hamilton and Dundee United at home, both dreadful performances and hammered at Killie in the cup.

Jimmy Calderwood was a broken man in midweek and didnt offer any excuses for that result. I was actually sure he was about to resign he sounded that down and its no surprise that more and more Dons fans are calling for him to be sacked anyway.

Hes lost some big players in the summer and made a lot of changes to his side. I think they have too many young guys, theres a real lack of experience right through the side. Centre back is his biggest problem and it gets worse for Jimmy as Considine will miss this game through injury. I dont think they have ever replaced Anderson who went to the championship, he was the captain and leader and a fine defender. Im sure Calderwood would bring him back if it was possible.

This game for me, is the spls form side, playing fantastic football and scoring some super goals, against the side on the worst form with no confidence whatsoever. It is also a fixture Aberdeen have a history of getting stuffed in, they have been beaten 5,6 and 7 to 0 in recent years.

Not saying it will be quite that easy but Celtic should do this by at least 2 goals.
