Halifax -4.5.
Its play off time and Halifax look great value to start off with a win here. They may have finished 7 points behind league leaders Salford but i thought during the regular season they were the best side to watch in league 1.
They throw the ball around as often as possible and are not scared to take a chance. At this level you dont see many teams who have the courage to take chances so its not just a sign of class, its a sign of confidence.
I like the pace they have out wide but there is also plenty options around the rucks.
Widnes finished the season very well and they make a fantasic signing in Tyler from Saints. They have been stuggling badly to score trys but hes added plenty of power on that right hand edge, and a good few trys too. Sneaking in on 6th place is good going for a side of their standard, my opinion anyway.
Obviously Widnes will be fired up for this and its very much a case of who cares how we played for most of the year, we are there and have a chance to upset the odds. But they couldnt really have picked a more difficult tie that travelling to Halifax, possibly Salford, but it does not getting any tougher in Div 1 than winning here.
The home fans will be right behind their favs and with Halifax in super scoing form(64 points at Fertherston) at the moment, 4 points does not seem a big ask.
Halifax -4 to beat Widnes with william hills at 1.91
