Shrewsbury vs. West Bromwich

            West Bromwich Albion  played last days against Koln losing heavily with 1-4 , quite big defeat considering WBA was down 0-4 after just 38 minutes of play . Players looked tired and clearly not prepared to start new season in Premiership .

            WBA played aggressive and quite offensive but against better prepared team like Koln with good passing WBA was punished severily . Second half they were looking better on the field and managed to score one goal .

            This is WBA’s second lost friendly game this summer after 1-2 defeat against another german team , Borussia Monchengladbach .

            WBA has big ambitions for this year in Premiership . They start as relegation contender but they are determined to avoid relegation . It seems there are some decent transfers this summer that might help WBA to achieve their objective . Last year WBA was one of the most offensive teams in Championship and is highly probable to remain the same this season as their coach is offensive minded .

This season, Mowbray has spent over £12 million and has enlarged the squad with Luke Moore from Aston Villa for £3,000,000 , Kim Do-Heon from Seongnam for £550,000 Roman Bednar from Hearts for £2,300,000 ,Gianni Zuiverloon from Heerenveen for £2,300,000 , Graeme Dorrans from Livingston for £100,000 , Marek Cech from Porto for£1,400,000 and most recently Scott Carson from Liverpool for £3,250,000.

Mowbray , WBA’s coach , has named 12 senior pros, including keepers Dean Kiely and Michal Danek, in his 18-man squad.

            Shrewsbury played lately a friendly game against Stafford Rangers winning 3-0 . Although some of the players might be tired because they played full 90 minutes against Stafford , it seems Shrewsbury’s coach is going to field best team available for this game against WBA .

It is expected to play for Shrewsbury players like  Ben Herd, Mike Jackson, Paul Murray and Ben Davies in action this evening.

         For Shrewsbury this game will  be an important game and , as usually happens often in these friendly games , goals are expected . Don’t know what to expect from Shrewsbury ,although they said they will field a strong team today . Looking past WBA’s team it seems it is enough quality to overcome Shrewsbury tonight . I will go with WBA to win .
