Over 51.5 points
The bookies are suggesting a 20 point home win here but im not so sure about that. The French are missing a number of their top players thanks to the domestic semi finals but even so they have said they will target the Aussies up front and with Chabel and Bruno in the side ive a feeling they will have the advantage in the forwards. It should also be said the Australia had plenty of problems with the scrum in the match with Ireland and the line out was not great either. So the French pack can win enough ball in the right areas.
Ofcourse the Aussies do have a terrific back line, one of the best in world rugby, plenty of speed and good movement around the rucks. Scoring points is not a problem but keeping them out can be. I thought they were very average in defense against the Welsh and could have lost more than the 3 trys they did. They turned the ball over in dangerous positions and one thing we know about this French squad is that they have the pace to striker from deep and are known as one of the worlds best counter attacking sides.
The one area where France look quite weak and inexperienced though is on either wing and you can be sure that is where the Aussies will target.
I think the French can put scores on the board but it will be tough to stop one of the worlds finest backlines from doing the same.
A tough game to call on the cap but one where i think we will see plenty of scores at both ends.
Aussies v France over 51.5 match points with paddypower at 2.88
