In town this week, the Vikings. The Vikings are a team that are beginning to really struggle this season because they are so one dimensional on offense. They have no QB...it is that simple, if this team had a great QB, look out...however, a QB is that important in this game, and they don't even have a "serviceable" one. They are getting killed on offense now, and teams are beginning to respect RB Adrian Peterson and his abilities to run the ball hard and down hill into defenses...they are starting to stack the box on defense, and they are asking the QB of the Vikings to beat them. Why do I say, "the QB"...instead of listing a name?? Well, they Vikings have 3 QB's on the roster that might start. Their situation is that bad actually... The Vikings' stout run defense will be out to prove it can stop RB LaDanian Tomlinson, but it will quickly find out it needs an extra defender in the box. If LT gets taken away early, QB Philip Rivers should be confident against a Vikings secondary that's giving up big yardage to QBs, especially with hard-to-cover targets such as tight end Antonio Gates and wide receiver Chris Chambers. Minnesota will have trouble delivering strikes against this solid defense. Still, it's a chance to see two special runners -- Tomlinson and Vikings rookie Petersen and so I'll be watching anyway...regardless of the fact that the Chargers are going to destroy the Vikings. I'm taking the Chargers here in a blowout and I'm giving the -7 points easily.
