These are 2 sides who play an open attacking style so depsite it being a derby match i still see it being a high scoring game.

Gloucester ended the year as they always seem to, losing form at exactly the wrong time. They were cut to favs for the title at one point in the season and looked like they had what it takes to win it. But a really poor final 3rd meant it was another season of what ifs for the cherry and whites.

I do like their new singing this year, Nicky Robinson, he is a class act who will be well suited to their style of play. Im not so sure about Voyce though but he is an experienced winger who will be hoping a change of club helps regain form.

Bath obviously have to get over the drug scandel which means they lost 4 key players. I quite like the noises coming out the camp though, no feeling sorry for themselves and only being positive about the future. They believe this squad will be even stronger and while im not so sure about that the attitude is excellent.

Matt Carraro,David Wilson, Julian Salvi and number eight Ben Skirving all make their debuts.

It will be rough and tough early on but i think it will open up after the opening exchanges.

It is only day 1 of the season and the pitch should be perfect, the weather is fine. Looking at both squads there is plenty of attacking flair on both and with defences possibly a little suspect early in the season this is a day for the likes of Robinson and Claassens to enjoy.

Expect a big game from Abendanon too, his power out wide may even win this one for Bath.
