To continue the tradition of the early pick for you faithful BetShooters, let's look at a great week 7 match-up. This line is yet another one that makes no sense...the Chiefs are trying to find a little groove and identity and are looking to get back to what they have done so well over the past few years..."running the football"...last week, the Chiefs surprised everyone and beat the Bengals in Kansas City. RB Larry Johnson finally made it for a game, and the impostor that was decided to stay at home as he rushed for over 100 yards and even decided to find the end zone! There are so many reasons to take the Chiefs here.... Now, I know I am not one to look at the "Against the Spread" numbers, but these numbers however are almost too much to overlook. The Chiefs are 2-1 ATS away. The Chiefs are 3-1 ATS as the underdog. The Chiefs are 2-0 ATS as an away underdog. The Raiders are 0-2 ATS at home. The Raiders are 0-2 ATS as the favorite. The Raiders are 0-2 ATS as a home favorite. Now...I am no statistics major in my schooling or anything, but I do know that it doesn't take a rocket scientist to say that the Chiefs are playing well away from home as an underdog, and that the Raiders struggle big time to hold serve at home and to win as a favorite. I know that QB Daunte Culpepper is back and everything for the Raiders, but then again, how did that work in San Diego in week 6? Well, they lost 28-14 to the Chargers...some would say, "so what, the Chargers are back"...well, even if that is the case...RB Ladanian Tomlinson went off for nearly 200 yards rushing and scored 4 td's. Now, how do you feel about the chances of RB Larry Johnson of the Chiefs being able to keep the Chiefs offense on the field and not allow the Raiders offense to even hardly see the field? The Raiders have a pretty underrated defense, that much I will give them, however, let's be realistic...they are still the Raiders, and if Larry Johnson can control the clock and thus the possession for the Chiefs, that would open up the passing game big time for QB Damon Huard, WR Dwayne Bowe, and TE Tony Gonzalez to orchestrate a strategic attack and the Raiders could be in for a very long day. The Chiefs at +3 is a no brainer here. A must bet for any NFL tipper!!!
