This should be a very interesting game at Safeco Park in the third game of a four game series between the New York Yankees and the Seattle Mariners. The Yankees have won the last two games but were forced to work hard against the Mariners last night, after Rowland smith dominated the first seven innings of the game. Texiera and Swisher delivered the goods in the penultimate ninth inning and will be eager to continue their good form tonight. Alex Rodriguez might again missed out of the line up because of back spasms but the Yankees quality throughout the line up should be sufficient.

The only slight concern for them is that the rookie Mitre will at least make one more start today. He was on the receiving end of a loss against the Jays last time out. You do expect him to give up about 2-3 runs in the five innings or there about that he will be pitch but I am sure the opposing pitcher French will also be shaky. He has yet to gone past the fifth inning mark over his last five starts and as long as the Yankees pounce early on him, Mitre should have an early lead to protect.
