Twente were absolutely last season. Under McClaren, they look to be a menacing threat to the rest of the division and the likes of PSV and AZ Alkmaar will have to be on their toes this time round. For Twente, they were dealt a harsh blow in Europe on Wednesday when they were knocked out by Sporting Lisbon after conceding a stoppage time goal to the Portugese side. I do expect a much improved performance by the home team in this game as they will feel that their fans should be rewarded after all.

This promises to be the first key match up in the Eredivisie of 2009 and I will just have to lean towards Twente to win on extra days rest, after PSV had to play their uefa cup tie two days back in Bulgaria. PSV have been a very good team in Holland for a long time already but over the years, the crop of talent in their club have chose to join other bigger teams which have been an adverse effect to them. Based on Twente's free scoring antics at home, they should just edge it.
