Houston Astros vs San Francisco Giants
This sports betting tip was written by r3ds on August 3rd, 2009 at 17:58
The Giants won three out of four from the Phillies at AT and T Park as they hope that their supreme home form can help them sustain their challenge more on road trips. San Francisco have not fared too well on their travels in 2009 but they will hope that their recent good vein of form will have helped them gain some confidence. They are 7-3 in their past ten games as they hope to pull themselves away from the Colorado Rockies, who are quietly chasing up behind in the wild card race.
Matt Cain will start for the Giants in this game. He carries a 12-2 record into this game. Last time out, Cain pitched an absolute gem by limiting the Pirates to only three hits in nine complete innings but yet could not get a decision. It was very tough luck for the ace who have done extremely well in the entire season up to date. In his last six starts, he has given up at the most a run per game which highlights his prowess. As for the Astros, they will return back to their ball club after nicking one game off the Cardinals last night. However with Hampton at the plate, it seems like it will be a pitching mismatch.
