After the 1-0 home win over the Netherlands this past weekend, Romania is now closer than ever to the EURO 2008.They are on top of Group G with 23 pct., Netherlands on second with 20 pct. and Bulgaria on 3rd with only 18 pct..With only 3 matches left, they travel to Luxembourg to face the bottom team of Group G that surprisingly got their first points during the past weekend, winning 1-0 with a late goal in front of Belarus. First i have to say that the first match between Romania and Luxembourg, in this qualif. stage, ended with a 3-0 score in Romania's favor with Mutu(25 min.), Contra(50 min.) and Marica(89 min.) scoring the 3 goals.But for this match Romania will be without some important players, besides the ones that were also out against Netherlands, Codrea, Mutu and Nicolita will also be out.Without Mutu and Nicolita, the Romanian team will suffer a little bit in attack, but just a little bit, because players like Daniel Niculae and Ciprian Marica do have a lot of goals in them. So, far Luxembourg have scored only 2 goals.Both against the same team : Belarus.One goal bringing them 3 points.In all the other matches Luxembourg didn't manage to score and lost 1-0, 2-0 or 3-0.It's quite clear that Romania is going to win this match.With the atmosphere at the team after the win over Netherlands, is great.But i don't believe that Romania will go to Luxembourg to score too many goals.And as receiving any goals, i think it very unlikely that the Romanian squad will receive any goals with the defense they have got.
