Like what I had said last night, the Yankees was always going to pounce the New York Mets given the two contrasting forms of both teams at the moment. The Yankees' offence have finally shown their true colours again why they score the most runs in the majors and with Alex Rodriguez hitting a historic home run last night, everything looks so bright for the bombers yet again. Gardner managed to chip in last night by having five hits in total. The Mets were slaughtered right from the get go last night although you can say several infield errors eventually costed them.

Burnett will start for one more time before his suspension kicks in after this match. He took a tough loss last week at the Marlins, when the Yankees offence did not provide any run supports for their starting pitchers throughout the series.  Redding will be the starter for the Mets tonight and he must be proud of winning his first game of the season in his last outing against the Cardinals. However, run support provided him with much cover and including that game itself, it was a case of a similar performance by Redding, who always gives up 3-5 runs and that will not be acceptable tonight against a hot Yankee team.
