I think it can be fair to say that the Yankees have finally slugged out from their slump which had troubled them over the last seven days. Over that tough stretch, key pitching performances wre not repaid by the cold offence which was totally uncoordinated. Finally over the last two games, the Yankees have began to pile back the runs and it is a matter of how many they would want to in today's match against their rivals, the Mets. It all started two games back in the seventh inning when a Yankee revival materialised and since then, the first few batters have been doing the club proud. Last night, Jeter, Damon and Rodriguez were red hot for all nine innings.

Sabathia will start for the Yankees despite of a niggling injury. Pitching in the Mets ballpark usually is a pitchers dream due to the huge dimensions of the field. therefore, people always brand it as a pitchers ballpark and with Sabathia the ace starting, the Mets will struggle to deal with the strong hitting strike out pitcher. The Mets have slumped in recent weeks and their bullpen is unbelievably woeful to be true. Pelfrey is 5-2 this term but do not back on their starting pitchers as I have lost my trust in them over the past three or four games.
