This should be a tight game. 2 sides who have been defending well recently but struggling at times to get over that line and post points.

That was a really disappointing performance from the Giants last week, only 1 try at home to Castleford and far too many soft penalties. They do seem to struggle in these types of games, against side that you would expect them to beat, and they seldom recover from a bad start. That was the case when these sides met about a month ago as Salford were easy 24-4 winners at the Galpharm.

Its still been a very good season for the Giants right enough. 10 wins so far and 4th position on the ladder. I believe they have the best defence in super league. At times its stonewall and the line speed is superb. They get men in tackle quickly and slow even the best sides down. The Giants can be a very tough side to play against.

Salfords line looks far stronger these days. If we ignore the beating at Wigan, the Reds have onlly lost 5 trys in the other 3 games with Bradford, Giants and Hull. Not bad for a side who were promoted, more so with the way they were being crushed earlier in the season just about every game.

They did derseve to beat Hull last week but once again some handling errors and wrong decisions in the last 3rd cost them. Still they are able to compete now thats the important thing.

Only 16 trys scored in their last 6 home games. Its pretty clear where their problem lies. They dont have as much power as most sides in super league and this does tend to result in them playing a lot of the game in their own half.

Id expect the Giants to get revenge for that result last month. But i dont see them running up a big score. It should be close and quite a low scoring match.
