New York Mets vs St Louis Cardinals

The Cardinals are starting to peak again as the season almost reaches the halfway stage. At this point though, St Louis still lead their division and with a 7-3 record in their last 10 games, they will hop to continue their three game winning streak as well. Last night, the Cardinals were in magical form, destroying the Royals 13-5 and more importantly, Albert Pujols having 6 rbis. Pujols is hot right at the moment, with 10 rbis against their recent series at Kansas and it seems like pitchers cannot retire him at all. As for the Mets, they struggled big time last night when they faltered badly against the Tampa Bay Rays in dramatic fashion. Walks after walks were given up and the team is finding hard to score RISP at the moment.
Wellemayer will start for the Cardinals and last outing he did considerably well, allowing only two earned runs over 6.1 innings. He will come up against Redding of the Mets who did come off a rough outing against the Baltimore Orioels last time out. In most of his games that he ash pitched thus far, he has averaged only five innings and also, he has failed to win against the Cardinals since 2004. Go for the peaking Cardinals.
