The Colorado Rockies are the best team in baseball at the moment as they have won 13 of their last 14 matches which has seen them climbed back to .500 after a horrid start to the season. Only Tampa Bay managed to snap their winning streak at 12 during their opener at the Rockies ballpark few days back. As for the Pirates, they were extremely poor in their match yesterday as they faltered badly to the twins by a score of 5-1. The scoreline does not look too bad but it is the pathetic number of hits that they are getting which is worrying. They did not even seem like threatening their opposition from the first pitch and I really fear for them coming against a very hot team now.

The pirates are 14-23 on their travels and inter league play did not help them at all. I think the Pirates are one of the those teams such as Baltimore whereby they do sell of their best players for money and hence their ball club often has very few outstanding players. The Rockies will have Marquis to start for this game. The starting pitcher has a 8-4 record this season and with an era of 3.77, I think he has done pretty well thus far. By glancing though his statistics, I believe he can give the Rockies a minimum of six innings every game and that should be enough to defeat his nemesis Ohlendorf today. Ohlendorf is 2-3 in his career against the rockies.
