The San Francisco fairy tale run just continues even in the third month of the season. They have surprised many by their strong performances and unlike in their previous eyars whereby they do struggle for consistency, they are second in the NL West at the moment and occupy the last wild card birth. They are a rock at home and given the fact that the match yesterday at AT and T was a pitching disadvantage, they did manage to pull through and record a win too.

Matt Cain will start for the Giants in this game. The experienced pitcher is enjoying one of his best seasons of his career and his record of 8-1 is just phenomenal. He was roughed up in his last start against Arizona but I do expect him to bounce back strongly since he has been producing the goods in his other games. The Oakland Athletics are occupying the bottom spot in their division and things are starting to go against them. Furthermore injuries have been unfair to them in this calendar year and it is very hard to see how they can compete with a confident looking Giants side tonight.
