The Mets had thought that they have already won last night's game not for only Castillo's costly blunder which  costs his team two runs and ultimately lost the game from a leading position. Despite the positive attitude shown by the mets players in the opener, their form has been sliding in recent weeks, with their last ten matches going 3-7. At the new yankees stadium, the Yankees have been brilliant all season and if they had not gone down in all their games against the Red Sox this season, they would be leading the pack by a mile. But the most commendable thing about them is their ability to come back from deficits this season.

On the mound for the mets will be Nieves, who is the backup pitcher for the injured Maine who was put in the disabled list only yesterday. Nieves will find it difficult to keep things tight in a ball park who has seen many home runs thus far and judging by the way the balls are travelling, I believe he will not survive past the fifth inning. Petite has been outstanding this season even though he is probably raned as the number four pitcher in the rotation. As long as Petite goes about his job quietly, the Yankees should be able to knock off the Mets here.
