The New York Yankees are currently tied with the Boston Red Sox in first place in the American East. They posted a 4run deficit last night to come back against the Texas Rangers which was the up teen time they had done so already this season. Tampa Bay Rays will be a very challenging opposition for them but the thing that they can be happy with is the Rays 12-17 record away from their ball park this season. However, the Yankees offence have been red hot this season, mainly boosted by the signing of Mark Texeira who played an instrumental role in getting a three run double last night.

Price will be the starting pitcher for the Tampa Bay rays tonight. The starter has a 1-0 record this season with an era of 3.00. Price struck out eleven batters in 5 and 2/3 innings in his last time out to claim the win which must have really surprised the Rays fans. However, many times this season, the opening game of any series at the Yankees stadium have gone to the home team as visiting teams do not really comprehend how easy it is for batters to clear the right hand wall. Sabbathia will once again prove why he is highly regarded as one of the best in the business and as long as he can deal with the likes of Longoria, the Yankees should claim the opener.
