Verdasco overcame a tricky tie against Serra in the round of 128 and today his opponent is not easy feat too. He will be facing his countryman Almagro who will be hoping to put up a good performance against the world number eight and prove that he can compete with the worlds best. Almagro is ranked thirty four in the world now and a good showing in roland garros would further lift his standings. But Verdasco has always been a menacing threat to his opponents since his rise to the tennis industry few years back.

I think Verdasco will come out top in this internal duel between two fantastic players but as Verdasco's history in Roland Garros shows, he seldom win matches in three sets and I have a feeling that Almagro might just pinch a set off him midway through the match but nonetheless, Verdasco will still be too strong.
