The other reason why I am backing the Giants so favourably for this game is down to the unequal match up between the consistent Tim Lincecum to the rookie of Kris Mellen. Kris Mellen made his debut for the Braves in his last start, lasting only three innings and giving up a total of 5 earned runs. The young pitcher does not have any outstanding pitchers and it will be a worry for him to make it in the top level of major league baseball.

The era of Tim Lincecum is at 3.45 compared to the unimaginable 15.00 of the opposing pitcher, Kris. The Braves this season have lost games out of no where by extreme huge score lines and that has been a repeated pattern for the last month or so and I think the Ginats will grab an early lead and if they manage to get the Braves pitcher out of the game early, they may exploit the weakness of the Braves wary bullpen, leading them a much needed victory.
