Sunderland must better whatever Hull do against Man u or Newcastle do at Villa. They are in the driving seat, at home with the crowd behind them against a Chelsea side with not a lot to play for and the fa cup coming up next week.

We know the black cats are on a terrible run, they along with Hull have the worst recent form in the league so defence in this game is vital. I dont think it matters if Sunderland dont make chances, early on anyway, they will start 4-5-1 and make totally sure Chelsea do not take the lead. A goal for Chelsea and the side loses confidence and starts worrying about what is going on elsewhere, the fans also start to panic and Chelsea relax and enjoy their football. This must be the most important thing the coach says to the players, do not gift a soft goal.

There is ofcourse every chance with the form Hull and the Toon are on that neither will win and a draw here will be enough for Sunderland. I must admit i think they would take a chance and accept a 0-0 right now.

Chelsea have the fa cup coming up next week, which they really have to win to bring some comfort from a poor season. I think we will see quite a laid back performance from the Blues but as always they will be very tough to break down. Remember only 22 goals lost all season and a fantastic away record of 13 wins.

Sunderland must keep this game tight and if that means picking up some cards and trying to upset chelsea then so be it.
