As expected, the tampa bay rays have failed to reproduce the form that they had last year when they claimed the east division over annual favourites boston and new york. However, the rays have more or less maintained their record around the .500 mark which is not too bad.  They had a good series win over their previous opposition and will be full of confidence for the visit of the oakland ace. The Rays have won four in a row and a their artificial home turf, it might serve as an advantage for them.

Judging by the ace away record in the majors this season, they have not performed too well with a record of 5-11 already. They were thrashed and swept in their last series and visiting Tampa at a point now would not be welcomed.  The starting pitcher for the rays will be Niemann and although his record is 3-3 thus far, it is not too bad as some will suggest as most of his starts have been on away trips and for one reason or another, his starts have been against tough opposing pitchers. But for the case of the Ace, they have called up Gallagher recently and I can say he was fortuitous last time out as he allowed 10 hits but only 3 earned runs were scored.
