Chardy is ahead of Acusaso in the world rankings by just few places. The former is at number 40 while the latter sits at number 44. Acusaso plays most of his tournaments in the South America, whereby the tournaments and the scale of it is much smaller compared to the atp events. Moreover, I think he is entering the latter phases of his tennis career which explains his decline of form in recent years.
