Harlequins v Salford

Quins -8.5
Forget how poor Leeds were last week that was a fantastic result for Quins and it was not a case of riding their luck. 3 trys to 1, all quality trys too for the London side and Leeds only reply came with seconds left on the clock. They controlled the game from start to finish something you never ever see happen when anyone visits the Leeds Rhinos.
McDermott is a top class coach and it was interesting to hear him say midweek that there was no celebrating the result, no getting carried away, and that he demands the same performance against lowly Salford. It has been Quins problem in the past, big performance against the top sides, disappointing one the week after.
After 2 excellent wins Salford are back to their worst in the last fortnight with 2 poor performances in France and losing last weekend to Hull, who beforehand couldnt buy a win.
They look really really weak in the forwards, Cashmere apart and couldnt manage to get out of their own half for long spells of that game. Myler is obviously a class act but he gets so little help in attack and is possibly wondering about a move in the summer to a side where he links up with players of the same talent. Wiltshire looked a rabbit caught in the headlights any time the ball was kicked near him.
To be honest both Celtic and Salford have not looked of super league standard recently and i wonder if giving them both the licence may prove to be a mistake.
I dont see any problems for the Quins to cover this start. In fact they hammered Salford on their own park by 48 to 18 only 2 months ago with Quins rolling right over the top of them. Salford will not enjoy playing on such a wide surface in Edinburgh as it will be even easier to find gaps in that waffer thin defence.
McCarthy-Scarsbrook should have a big game but as always Danny Orr will be the main man, he is having a super season and running things.
Id also expect Howell to have a good day as he will be up against a side who simply cannot defend on the right hand side of the park. Littler, Myler and Goulding are easily beaten by a little bit of skill or power.
