Ryan Day v Nigel Bond

This sports betting tip was written by Sandy on April 24th, 2009 at 01:25

Day -3.5 frames.

Ryan Day strolled past Steven Lee as expected to take his place in the second round. The young Welshman hardly got out of second gear in the 10-4 win and the draw has been quite kind to him once again as he will face 1995 finalist Nigel Bond.

Day possibly does not have the amount of tournaments we would expect at this stage in his career but he has proved time and time again that he has the talent, and most importantly the bottle to mix it with the likes of Osullivan. We all remember that epic quarter final 2 years back when really Ryan Day deserved to knock the Rocket out but ended up going out by 13-11.

Bond certainly rolled back the years when knocking out Peter Ebdon. But much of that win was down to the Londoners poor form at the moment and the fact hes not been giving it his very best in practice pre tournament.

Winning by 4 frames will not be easy for Day but im very confident he will. Bond does not score heavily enough when getting in among the balls and this lad is one of the top break builders in the game. Day knows this tournament is wide open and that even the Rocket has not been at his best. This is a nice against a rank outsider, he can make the 3rd round and relax, and by putting down a marker with a confident performance.
