Sunderland v Stoke

over 3.5 yellow cards.

this is not going to a pretty game it looks a real scrap with a busy night for the ref.

you would think looking at the table stoke should be safe from the drop but im not so sure, their away record is very poor and a lot of the sides at the bottom of the table seem to be hitting some decent form at the most important time. hughes is trying to change the style and to be fair there has been plenty of evidence and good football to suggest hes doing just that, but their defending at times this season has been very poor and thats the one area you expect stoke to be strongest.

sunderland have picked up some vital wins, and ofcourse are on their way to a final having knocked out man utd in the league cup semi, its certainly a side with a lot more confidence now but there is much work to be done. ive always thought the squad was better than the league position suggests but as di canio found out there can be an attitude problem at times and some big names also have a horrible habit of making errors at vital times and getting themselves sent off.

these are 2 teams with quite poor discipline and this is such an important games i expect a good few cards.
