Its quite strange to see Swindon near the bottom of league 2, it does not feel like that long ago this club was playing in the top league. They have made a very interesting appointment in Di Canio but its not going so well this season either- 4 defeats in a row leaves Town 4th from bottom.

The Robins did manage a nice 1-0 win in the last round at Bristol and while it was a pretty awful game it at least gives them a bit of confidence and belief. They can beat championship opposition.

Southampton are playing some terrific football this season. The Saints are the Man City or Man Utd of the lower leagues. Very stong midfield with 2 quality wide players and a top partnership in Lambert and Connelly.

I do like their manager- he knows the lower leagues inside out and has picked up some great bargins. Adkins always looks very calm and in control too- i think thats very important for a manager at any level.

We seen another high scoring game at the weekend as they lost to big spending Leicester. The 5-2 win at Ipswich was an amazing game, it could easily have been 10-2 as Saints handed Jewells side a lesson in pass and move football.

It seems, according to the teams news, that Saints will make a number of changes mostly in defence and the goalkeeper. So with home advantage Swindon should get their chances. Despite a poor run we did see them take 3 off Crewe in their 1st home game of the season.

But the away side are so dangerous, very slick passing with strikers that can finish. They will enjoy playing here the surface is very good.

I think we should see a high scoring cup tie here with Saints possibly just sneaking the win.
