Cilic is one win away from winning his home national open when he takes on Ukraine Dolgopolov in today's final. Yesterday Cilic easily dispatched Itialian Veteran Foginin in straight sets to seal his passage into the final. His opponent today, also made in into the final by defeating a tricky customer in Juan Carlos Ferrero and it will surely be a close fought match this evening in Croatia. It has to be said though that Cilic, the Croat, have been on quite a run since Wimbledon to date and only narrowly missed out on a semifinal birth last week, when he was closely edged out by Youzhny 7-6 in the deciding set of his 1/8 tie.

For Dolgopolov, he did start off the year brilliantly but have since tailed off in the last 2-3 months or so and this week's elite performance have totally come out of nowhere but I simply cannot see him defeating the home boy today. The partisan home crowd would continue to support Cilic all the way and as so, Cilic should bag this title.
