Yesterday saw Federer bundling out of the compeition with Tsonga nailing an unbelivable comeback after going two sets down. Also Djokovic survived an almighty scare when Australian teengaer stumped him earlier on. This only shows the tension of playing in the latter rounds of a grand slam where the rush of adrenaline within the players make it so difficult for one to close out matches. Up next today would be the women's semi-finals. Kvitova would have a second chance of avenging her semi final defeat last year when she takes on the shrieky Azarenka. Azrenka may be fifth in the world rankings but this is the first time she has made it to the semis of a grand slam.

Both players cruised to relatively comfortable wins in their quarters and with some many of the big seeds except Sharapova out now, it presents a good opportunity for either of these two to stake a claim in the finals. Based on head to head readings, its evenly poised at two a piece but Kvitova is real strong on grass, narrowly losing to Bartoli at Eastbourne last week too. However, I do think Azzrenka still has a long learning curve ahead of her and with her ocassional temperamental jumps, I would not back my money on her to remain calm and deliver her duty today.
