Malisse, the thirty year old veteran will go up against the youthful Tomic for a round in the quarters on wednesday. Malisse capped off a resounding victory on saturday by dumping Melzer out in straight sets. That was some feat achieved given that Melzer was seeded 11th in the tournament here. As for Tomic, his height dvantage does come into his advantage in the grass court season where serves are all that important. Tomic does stand at an impressive 1.93m tall. If one considers Malisse win as an emphatic triumph, Tomic managed to even outdo that by beating Soderling, the swede, in straight sets as well.

Thus far, it ahs been Tomic's best performance in a grand slam as he is usually ousted in the first round. However, I expect Malisse to provide the extra experience in this tie here. Afyerall, Malisse did made it through to the semifinals in the netehrlands two weeks back and among all the different surfaces, he holds the highest win lose percentage on grass. This will definintely be another close affair because I expect both parties to adopt a more cautious approach, and maybe placing even more emphasis and care on their service games
