In a repeat of last week's final in Madrid, the world's top two tennis stars take centre stage once again in the d'Italia final. In both soides of the semi final draw played yesterday. Nadal easily defeated his French opponent 7-5 6-1 to book his place in the final while Djokovic had to endure a nervy 3 setter to defeat Murray 7-6 in the decider. A win today for Djokovic will bring him closer towards Nadal in the mens ranking but certainly not sufficient to overhaul the number 1 spot heading into Roland Garros towards the end of the month.

This will mark the 27th encounter between these two players today. The Spaniard has had the upperhand with a record of 16-10 over his close rival to date. But once again, I did state earlier in my previous tip last week, that the tide is beggining to turn as Djokovic now has won 6 of his last eight meetings with Nadal. Last week in Spain, Djokovic's wicked crosscourt backhand prove to be his trump card as time and time again, he utilised his asset towards his advantage. Expect the Serb to extend his unbeaten track record this year today.
