St Helens v Warrington

Warrington have a pretty awful record in this derby fixture but we seen a number of times last season that the Wolves are getting closer and closer to the mighty Saints. The 1 point loss to Longs last minute drop goal may have been agony for the Warrington fans but it gives them plenty of heart for this one and it shows they can compete, if not win the game.
I really like the signing of Micky Higham. It was odd that Wigan let him go and with their result last week it seems it could have been a mistake already. He didnt get on with Noble, well obviously, but he has a chance to get his career going again and James Lowes is known for being a very good man manager. Higham adds some nice dummy half runs and has played well against tonight opponents St Helens many times.
Saints are a class side we all know that. But they have to recover from that grand final defeat to Leeds. Most didnt give Leeds a chance but they were by far the best side on the night and that makes it 2 years in a row where St Helens have been super leagues best side all year only to come up short in the final. Mick Potter has a big job lifting them but to be fair he is an excellent coach.
It is well known that Saints do not start or end seasons that well. They are a summer rugby side. When the pitch is perfect and the weather hot or calm, they can be impossible to stop. But at this time of year some of them dont quite fancy it. We seen Quins win here at the start of last season and Wakefield came very close, 2 of the lesser sides.
Warrington are a quality side with some very very strong forwards. Thats why i think they may even win the battle up front and are excellent value with such a big start.
