I like this bet on Exeter i think we will see them at least make a game of this and keep the score tight.

No one really gave them much of a chance before the start of the new premiership season. Not much cash to spend, a manager with no top level experience and a side that are not a big name in english rugby. But i think its fair to say the Chiefs have already proved so many wrong with some fine performances.

We seen them get off to a nice start with 2 home wins over Gloucester and Newcastle. The 3 away games have all been defeats but not embarrassing ones. Exeter did give the champions Leicester a real fright- scoring 3 tries too- so they have shown there is plenty of quality in the squad.

Irish are obviously 1 of the favs for the title having gone quite close last season. It is a side with terrific power in the forwards but also a lot of pace in the backline. Their kicking game is as stong as any side in the division and we have seen them turn on the style a couple of times this season running in plenty of tries against Leeds and Newcastle.

Exeter have an advantage here- while Irish have played some very tough, physical, european games in the last couple of weeks- they have been able to relax and prepare. I think that will be vital in the second half of this game and that fitness will tell.

Ofcourse Irish have more quality and are the better side but in a 1 off tie im sure Exeter can give them a real test. One thing that has impressed my about this side is how well organised they are and the way they have slowed the opposition down- this is going to be very important against a side like Irish that love quick ball.

It may well be a very close game that Irish sneak but Steensons boot can keep this one tight. He is one of the best goal kickers in the competition.
