Both coaches have some problems with injured players. Inter coach Rafa Benitez is without Thiago Motta, Marco Materazzi and Javier Zanetti, while some other players are doubtful. Diego Milito has a thigh injury, Macedonian Goran Pandev has a knee problem. Central defender Walter Samuel is also having a problem, but is likely to start on Wednesday evening. On other side Werder will be without Naldo, Sebastian Boenisch, Clemens Fritz, Torsten Frings and Claudio Pizarro. Petri Pasanen travel with the squad, but probably will not start.

I expect a hard battle in Milano. Inter is actual European champion, but that's guarantees nothing. In the first round Inter played only 2:2 with Twente. The same result was on the match between Werder and Tottenham.

It is interesting that the last match between Inter and Werder played in Milano on 01.10.2008 ended with a draw. The final result was 1:1 after Maicon scored for Inter and Claudio Pizarro for Werder. I expect something similar now. Inter is favorite, but two of first three strikers (Milito and Pandev) are injured. Even there are some chances they will play, it is a question how prepared they will be. Because of that I don't believe Inter is able to win.
