Rangers are total outsiders for this game and while anything can happen in football you would expect the mighty United to have almost all of the play in this game and Rangers keeper Alan McGregor to have a busy night.

United have not been at their best at the back but going forward they look on fine form. Giggs and Scholes never seem to age and even Berbatov seems to have found his Spurs form. Their is little doubt Utds pace and movement is going to really trouble a Rangers backline with 40 year old David Weir in the centre of defence.

Rangers have 4 wins in their 4 spl games but in truth the Gers have not been on great form. 3 of they wins were by just 1 goal and even the Hibs result(3-0) was very close for the 1st hour. The Gers dont have a great record in europe it is the negative always thrown at Walter Smith- who is a fine manager with a lot of experience. Last years CL was a bit of disaster as Rangers lost 4 goals at home to both a Romanian side and Seville.

Still they did go all the way to a eufa final only a few years ago. The football was pretty dire to watch though as Rangers went for penalty kicks in a number of they ties and played as cautious a system as you will ever see.

Thats the way Smith will line up tonight. 4--5-1 with Miller on his own up front. When Utd have it we will see a wall of defender, even midfield defenders looking to keep Rooney and co out. I have a feeling Utd might have a few problems breaking Rangers down though and that it may take till later the 2nd half for them to take control. Thats why i go for corners. There is going to be shot after shot aimed at the Gers goal and with a top keeper in there everything suggests Utd will register a lot more corner kicks than Rangers.
