Derby have a 1 goal lead to defend at old trafford after beating the european champions at pride park in the 1st leg. It was a well deserved win too and even Sir Alex admitted it at time up. Commons scored an absoulte beauty, if Hulse had scored that sitter late on they would be heading to Manchester with a healthy advantage. It was a very odd performance by Man Utd though. They didnt just play poorly, in my opinion they lacked a bit of heart and commitment which is something you never expect from a Utd side. Ofcourse this cup is nowhere near as important as the other 3 and its interesting that the Utd manager has promised to give youth a chance tonight. Zoran Tosic could make his debut, Darron Gibson, Rodrigo Possebon, Rafael and Danny Welbeck should all feature at some point. I dont think sitting in and defending is the way for Derby to cause a shock. They have to score here to have any chance and if they could sneak the 1st goal it would really put a lot of pressure on those Utd players and silence the crowd. Man Utd have not been at their best in the last month despite getting the results. The only quality performance was in the second half against Chelsea and with some experienced guys sitting this one out im sure Derby will have plenty of this game. They may be on dreadful form in the championship but a break from a relegation battle may be exactly what is needed. Derby will be backed by as many as 10,000 fans and with Nigel Cloughs preffered style being the same as his fathers was, ie passing football, i expect the Rams to score.
