Marouane Chamakh the latest transfer recruit of Arsene Wenger this season has shown so far to be a very shrewed striker, a goal poacher that Arsene Wenger has been craving for over a season now, especially since the departure of Adebayor.

But Wenger is a wise old man. Despite having the funds to sign Chamakh several times last season, he decided to rather wait for a season and marshall his forces to a well deserved 3rd place in the league and signed the Moroccan for free this summer.

Chamakh has been the reason for the success of Bordeaux winning the league in 2008-09 while picking up 4 other trophies in the spell of 2008-09. He is 26 years and should now be entering the prime form of his career and the little that has been seen of him in the pre-season only goes to show that he has the makings of an Arsenal legend for years to come.

With the support of Robin van Persie behind him and creativity of Cesc Fabregas, and hopefully the good wing play of Nasri, Arshavin, Rosicky and Walcott, should give him plenty of chances to find the back of the net, and I see this as a wonderful bet for the season for Chamakh to be Arsenal's top goalscorer for this coming season.
