Leeds United vs Derby County

This sports betting tip was written by rahul on August 6th, 2010 at 20:32

Leeds United are finally back to the Championship where they ideally belong if not the Premier League after a 3 season spell in League One, where they dominated and should have been up the first time around itself.

Leeds head into the new season with the loss of their top goalscorer Jermain Beckford who has sailed for green pastures in the Premier League and manager Simon Grayson is still optimistic his boys will be challenging for the title come May 2011.

Leeds have managed to sign on loan Sanchez Watt from Arsenal, who should give them another goal scoring threat to replace Beckford. Additionally they signed striker Billy Paynter and goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel, who should make major influences to their side this season.

Derby county on the other hand have always been a mixed bag since their relegation from the Premier League as they thought they could bank on parachute payments to help them survive the following seasons, but it has seen them continue to struggle.

They are now going to start the season without 4 key players Shaun Barker, Miles Addison, Stephen Pearson  and Steve Davies. The absence particularly of Barker and Addison leaves them a bit short in defense where they would be vulnerable to leak in goals especially with the crowd and pressure that will come in their visit to Elland Road.

Leeds United will want to gift a victory to their fans as a result of their tremendous support over the past 6 seasons of turmoil, and expect the fans to give the visitors a hard time, as Leeds should go on to secure their first 3 points of the season.
