The Reds are on decent form at the moment and this is a terrific chance for them to claim 2 points and get right back in the mix for a play in those all important play offs. A win would see them join Cas just outside the top 8 and with super league so tight this year McRae and his men will be thinking they can make the top half.

We seen 2 very good performances by the Reds at home recently. They put 40 points on what is a class Saints side-scoring some fantastic trys too- but also managed to run a very decent Warrington side close. You may see some poor shows by the Reds on the road but at home they are a tough nut to crack. The manager expects 100 per cent effort in front of those support because they can turn on the side very quickly if they feel they are not getting it. To be fair this season their desire has actually been pretty good.

Cas are going through a really bad spell at the moment. Confidence is quite low, one or two players still remain on the sidelines, and ofcourse there is talk of a split in the dressing room and some problems with the manager. I have to say of all the teams in super league Cas have defended the worst this season and it does not take an expert on the game to know, bad defending usually means defeats.

Its not a fixture Salford have a great record in to be honest its woeful. But im not too worried about that. At this time Salford look fit, hungry and very very confident with the ball in hand. Cas are feeling sorry for themselves and as i said continue to defend like a championship side.

The Reds have also had an extra few days to prepare as Cas played midweek, this should be important in the second half.
