Jelena Jankovic suprisingly heads into this fixture as the underdog against Sam Stosur only for the fact that Stosur has eliminated the top 2 favorites of this tournament in the form of Justine Henin and Serena Williams, although both game in tough fixtures.

Jankovic according to me was the favorite to win this tournament the moment that Justine Henin got knocked out. Jankovic has a very irritating game for most players with her never quit attitude, where she runs and chases after most balls looking to put the balls in deep in frustrating positions resulting in opponents making unforced errors.

Jelena has only played 1 three setter so far in this tournament and is looking quite fresh and rested to take on Stosur today and having the odds of an underdog doesn't justify it at all.

Stosur on the other hand is having a dream run to the semi-finals so far knocking out the top 2 favorites for this tournament and is basking in the glory so far. She has played some good solid tennis in this tournament, but the surprise has been her ability to handle her self well on the clay which is not her favorite. 

She has changed her game around this season to have a 17-2 record on clay, and while momentum is definitely on her side, Jankovic should have the edge in this game due to her experience and nature of her play which is more counterattacking.

Jankovic to win this one, probably in 3 sets.
