Motherwell vs Hearts

Both teams to score. Massive game for Motherwell and a great chance to go clear of the bottom 3 and get back in the battle for a place in the top 6. They looked in real bother after the derby day defeat at Hamilton but 2 good performances and the confidence has returned for Mark McGhees side. To be fair to him they did miss a lot of their best players at the same time to injury and he promised Motherwell would be a different side when they returned. And they were with a fine 3-2 win over Inverness and what i felt was a very good draw at St Mirren where they were the better side and probably deserved to win. Steven Hughes seems to have returned to form and we know on his day hes one of the best passers of a ball in the spl. Porter bagged a fine hat trick against Caley and looks back to his best too. Hearts cant score goals, only 1 in their last 4 games. Its odd, very odd, because they play some very nice football and have in my opinion the strongest midfield in the spl. The Jambos went to parkhead about 3 weeks ago and controlled most of the game, it ended 1-1 but Hearts should have beaten the champions. That after a super 2-1 win over Rangers. Driver is a class act on that left hand side and will no doubt move to england in the coming weeks and Kingston is a player who would walk into either old firm side. If only the manager would ditch that horrible 4-5-1 against the lesser clubs ? well rumours in the press say he will tonight and Nade will at last have a partner. It could be young Elliot whos returned from a super loan spell at Livi where he hit 11 in 13, or the the lad Glen who came on as a sub in the edinburgh derby and almost won it with a 30 yard drive which smashed the bar. Whoever he picks will certainly get chances alongside someone like Nade who does all the hard work. One thing i really like about Motherwell is the fact they always have a right go at sides when playing at home. You never see them sit in and defend, trying to keep it tight, possibly because the fans down there wouldnt accept it. They see their clubs as being as big as Hearts or Hibs or Aberdeen and expect to beat them. Ofcourse that means they give plenty of chances at the other end we seen both Hibs and Celtic smash 4 goals at fir park, Celtic could actually have scored double that. The centre of that Motherwell defence has been suspect all season but the biggest threat will be at right back where Andrew Driver is up against Paul Quinn. Quinn is not the best defender in the spl and he will face possibly the spls most skillful wide man. I think we will get a cracking game at fir park with loads of chances at either end and both sides hitting the back of the net. bet- both sides to score at 1.91 with skybet.
