Dagenham & Redbridge:

The Daggers supporters were dancing the conga around Victoria Park in Morecambe in the closing stages of their semi final second leg. Just what they have planned for Wembley remains to be seen, but one thing for certain, they know their team are in terrific shape to give the play-off final their best shot. The Essex side produced a professional performance to seal a 7-2 aggregate victory and showed more glimpses of the attacking football that smashed six past the Shrimps in the first leg. Their style of play, is at times, a real boost for League Two; but they will of course hope that is no longer applicable by the start of next season. Paul Benson grabbed the only Dagenham goal in the second game against Morecambe; meaning he and his strike partner Josh Scott were responsible for all 7 scored in the tie. It therefore goes without saying, that they will be key players in the final. John Still will have been trying to keep his players feet firmly on the ground, ahead of their big day; but it is inevitable that thoughts will be galloping ahead to the prospect of visiting the big grounds of the likes of Sheffield Wednesday, Southampton and Charlton. There is a small matter of playing at another sizeable venue first though, and in the form they're in, it would be a brave person to bet against them.


Rotherham United:

Great credit should be given to the Millers for the way they overcame a disturbing run of results, leading up to their play-off semi-final against Aldershot. Many people wrote Ronnie Moore's men off in the build up; believing that they had hit a slump in form and wouldn't be able to shake themselves out of it. Therefore, to be able to ease past Kevin Dillon's side, in reasonable comfort with a 3-0 aggregate win, shows that there is plenty of character still in the make up of the team; plus confirming the Manager's statement regarding the terrific spirit which runs through the camp. Top scores Adam Le Fondre struck 2 of the 3 goals over the two legs, to take his total for the season to the thirty mark. He is one of, if not the hottest property in the striking department, outside of the top two divisions. He has that arrogant streak that all good forwards possess, together with the other attributes that make for a top striker; namely pace, awareness, a cool head, and obviously an eye for goal. They will be encouraged that they beat Dagenham home and away during the season, without conceding; so that may just give them the psychological advantage, but the form of their opponents may well see the South Yorkshire outfit needing to come from behind and it may need longer that the regulation 90 minutes to settle this.
