St Helens v Barrow

Barrow+40.5
Saints will take their place in the challenge cup semi finals but some heavy rain should make this match a lot closer. We know what Saints can do to just about any side in warm conditions but their performances on wet pitches are often pretty average. Any time we see them upset in super league is always on a wet pitch due to poor weather. They are, like most class sides, a team who perform best in the heat.
Barrow are not a big game in the game and have only recently moved up the tables. People who totally write them off were shocked when they beat Cas but according to the reports it was a well deserved win at the Jungle. I think that tells you they have some quality in attack and while their forwards wont be of Saints standard they were good enough to control a match with a very decent super league side.
If this game was in hot weather on a perfect pitch id expect Saints to put 50 on the board. But with the rain coming down- and ofcourse Potter resting a couple of his big names for vital super league games- im sure this will be a lot closer. As i said a lot of Saints ball players do not perform in the rain. And with a pitch cutting up and also a fired up Barrow side playing the biggest game of their lives- this will be a lot closer than the bookies are predicting.
